Our children’s ministry at Shoreline church is aptly called “ARROWS”, as arrows have a target destination, which we believe to be the world in which we live, and that our children, when ready, will be ‘shot out’ to make a meaningful impact for God’s Glory and Kingdom purposes.

Our vision is to see each child like an ‘arrow’ being sharpened and equipped with Biblical truth and understanding. Our desire is to see them growing in their spiritual walk with Jesus. That each child would come to know Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives and that they would declare their faith unashamedly. Indeed becoming those effective ‘arrows’ in the hand of our King Jesus! (Psalm 127:4)

As a local church we have embraced the “Gospel Project” curriculum, with it’s easy to follow manuals. Its contemporary style of language and visual stimulation targets the needs of the children effectively. Here the children learn about the BIG story of the Bible and how the Bible all points to Jesus and God’s amazing plan of redemption, from Genesis through to Revelation.

Our Sunday teaching sessions begins after ‘family worship’. Children are encouraged to attend each week as we follow a biblical timeline. The Sunday class is made up of 3 groups: Preschool, Grade 1-3 and Grade 4-6. Each Sunday session begins with all three groups joining together, where there is a time of introduction and welcome, embracing those who might be visiting for the first time and also to celebrate birthdays in the week!  The groups then watch a DVD of a Bible lesson, and then break up into 3 separate groups for further discussion of the lesson and interactive activities.

At the end of each lesson there is the opportunity for the teacher to share the connection between the lessons learned that day and the gospel message! Juice and biscuits are served during a break period.

Our “Arrows” staff are made up of mainly parent volunteers, who love God and enjoy working with children.
